Our Story

Our journey started with a shared dream: making robots and machines that help people. Both of us had built our careers in engineering, but over time we realized we wanted more challenges, more freedom, and more chances to put something useful into the world.

Rosa grew up in Curaçao, fascinated by how raw materials could transform into finished products. That passion led him to the Netherlands, where he found joy in designing machines that felt more like puzzles than work. After years of experience in both small and large companies, he knew that real fulfillment came from creativity and collaboration, not just deadlines.

Daan, with a background in electrical engineering and over 10 years of hands-on experience in R&D, product development, and machine developement. But he felt the itch to do more under his own name, and not just as part of someone else’s dream.

After joking for years about starting a company together, we finally stopped joking and built R&D Automation B.V.

Our Approach

What makes us different is how we work with clients. We don’t just send proposals; we visit companies in person to see if we can truly help. Sometimes that means spotting opportunities clients didn’t even know existed. We like to build prototypes, test ideas together, and keep communication open. It’s less about transactions and more about collaboration.

At our core, we see ourselves as creative problem-solvers. Every machine is a new puzzle, and every project is a chance to learn and grow alongside our clients.

Who We Are

• Geraldo Rosa (Mechanical Engineer). Passionate about machine design, lifelong puzzle-solver, and also a cheerleader aiming for the national team.

• Daan Langelaan (Electrical Engineer). Expert in bringing machines to life, car enthusiast, and always tinkering on side projects in coding and prototyping.
   

Together, we balance creativity and technical know-how, covering both the mechanical and electrical sides of automation.

We want RD Automation B.V. to become the go-to place for one-off, complex manufacturing machinery in the Netherlands. Our goal isn’t just to solve today’s challenges, helping companies discover solutions they didn’t even realize they needed.
